Partner Trenten D. Klingerman advises, counsels and represents employers of all sizes, and he attributes his past experiences for helping him find practical solutions to complex issues.
"Previously, I have been a teacher and a human resources manager," says Trent. "My work as a human resources manager provided me with a keen interest in employment law, which eventually led me to law school. That work experience helps me to understand the practical hurdles that employers face in navigating federal and state employment laws."
Trent has successfully represented clients in federal and state trial courts, and before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. By winning numerous summary judgment motions, Trent has helped minimize legal fees and court time for his clients. He also is experienced in alternative dispute resolution channels, including mediation and arbitration. Trent is a frequent speaker on employment law topics, including the FMLA, ADA, Title VII and more.
Trent's leadership skills and experiences benefit the Lafayette community, too. He is Vice Chairperson of the Food Finders Food Bank's board of directors and he is on the board for Legal Aid. He previously has served on the boards of the Hanna Community Center and the Lafayette Crisis Center.
"I am extremely fortunate to practice law at the highest level and for a wide array of clients in a community the size of Greater Lafayette," says Trent.
