DRI Highlights Pennell’s Leadership

Lafayette, Indiana – April 2005 – DRI, the national organization of defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel, featured Stuart & Branigin LLP partner Stephen R. Pennell in the March 23 issue of its newsletter, The Voice.

The article, one in a series of leader spotlights, tells of Pennell’s history with DRI, his involvement with other legal and community organizations, and his contributions to various legal publications.

“Mr. Pennell sits on DRI’s Governmental Liability and Professional Liability substantive law committees, as well as the Membership Committee. He was the DRI Indiana State Representative from 1998-2000,” the article notes.

In addition, he was “honored with the 2004 DRI Fred Sievert Award, which is given to the President of a state and local defense organization who has made significant contributions toward achieving the goals and objectives of the organized defense bar.” Among his accomplishments as 2004 president of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana (DTCI), Pennell developed a scholarly publication, introduced a statewide writing contest for law students, and helped establish a scholarship fund for DTCI.
