Orr and Owen Elected to State Bar Leadership Positions Lafayette, Indiana – September 6, 2005 – Stuart & Branigin LLP partners Karen R. Orr and Marianne Mitten Owen have been elected to represent Tippecanoe County in the House of Delegates of the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA). The House of Delegates, the association’s policymaking body, is composed of 340 delegates representing more than 11,000 members. Orr has also been nominated to the Fifth District seat on the Association’s 22-member Board of Governors. Orr, a graduate of Indiana University and the Indiana University School of Law, practices in the areas of business transactions, health care and education law. In 2004, Orr was appointed by the Indiana governor to serve on the 14-member Corporate Law Survey Commission. She is a board member of the Indiana Bar Foundation and a board member and seminar speaker for the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum. Orr also serves on the personnel committee of the Tippecanoe Community Health Clinic. Owen also serves as treasurer of the ISBA and has held numerous leadership positions within the organization, including membership on the Board of Governors and chair of the Young Lawyers Section. She is also a fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation. Owen earned a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and a law degree from the Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington.
