McCully Named to ‘The Best Lawyers in America’ List

Lafayette, Indiana – August, 2005 Thomas R. McCully, partner in Lafayette’s Stuart & Branigin LLP, has been included in the 2005/2006 listing of “The Best Lawyers in America.” He has been listed in the directory since 1987 and is one of only 9,955 lawyers nationwide who have been listed for 10 or more years. Best Lawyers has been called “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice” by American Lawyer Media according to Steven Naifeh, Editor-in-Chief at South Carolina-based Woodward/White Inc., publisher.

A 1963 graduate of Wabash College, McCully earned his law degree with distinction in 1966 at Indiana University School of Law and has been practicing law with Stuart & Branigin ever since. While listed in the directory under real estate, his practice also includes health care and employment law.

Mr. McCully is a frequent speaker and author on topics including Real Estate, Zoning, Business Organizations and Employment Law. He is a member of the Board of Visitors of the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, and a Director of Lafayette Savings Bank and Junior Achievement of Greater Lafayette.

He was awarded the Pro Bono Publico Award by the Indiana Bar Foundation in 1995 and has been President of the Tippecanoe County Bar Association, Legal Aid Corporation of Tippecanoe County and Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington-Alumni Association. He served as Chairman of the Land Use and Zoning Section and as a member of the Special Committee to Revise and Re-codify Indiana Zoning Enabling Laws of the Indiana State Bar Association, and is presently Vice-Chairman of the Health Law Section. Mr. McCully is a Master Fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation and member of the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association and numerous business and civic organizations.
