PENNELL CHOSEN VICE PRESIDENT OF DTCI AT ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Lafayette and Indianapolis, Indiana -- January 8, 2002 – Stephen R. Pennell, a partner in the law firm of Stuart & Branigin LLP with offices in Lafayette and Indianapolis, was tapped to be vice president of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana at the associations Eighth Annual Conference November 16.

A native of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Pennell obtained his law degree from Indiana University, graduating summa cum laude in 1973. While attending law school, Mr. Pennell was a member of the Order of the Coif and in 1976, he received the American Jurisprudence Prize Award. From 1975-1976, he served as note editor for the INDIANA LAW JOURNAL. Presently, Mr. Pennell is a member of the Tippecanoe County, Indiana State and American Bar Associations; Bar Association of the Seventh Federal Circuit, and Defense Research Institute. Mr. Pennell is a general litigation practitioner in the areas of civil litigation, employment law insurance and appellate practice.
