McCully Earns Spot In National ‘Best Lawyer’ List for 16th Year
Lafayette, Indiana -- May, 2003 -- Thomas R. McCully,
partner in Lafayette’s Stuart & Branigin law firm, has again been
named one of "The Best Lawyers in America." He has been listed
in the 2003/2004 Best Lawyer’s directory, has been listed every year
since 1989, and is one of only 5,787 lawyers nationwide who have been
listed for 10 or more years.
"Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review
and because lawyers are not required to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion
should be--and is--considered a singular honor," said Steven Naifeh,
editor-in-chief at South Carolina-based Woodward/White Inc., publisher.
Those selected are chosen from surveys of 15,000 leading US. attorneys.
A 1963 graduate of Wabash College, McCully earned his law degree with
distinction in 1966 at Indiana University and has been practicing with
Stuart & Branigin ever since. He is a member of the Board of Visitors
of the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington and is a past
president of the Alumni Association. He is listed under his speciality of
real estate, but also practices in the areas of health care and employment
law.
Locally, he is on the Board of Directors of Lafayette Savings Bank and
Junior Achievement of Greater Lafayette. He has also served on the board
of Legal Aid Corp. for 22 years and was the recipient of the Pro Bono
Publico Award from the Indiana Bar Foundation in 1995.
A full-service firm with offices in Lafayette and Indianapolis, Stuart
& Branigin LLP has been providing legal services since 1878. Today,
the law firm’s staff of over 30 lawyers provides legal representation in
diverse areas including civil litigation, taxation, estate planning and
administration, transportation, construction, environmental, banking,
healthcare, immigration, intellectual property, international law, labor,
employment, real estate, securities, finance and educational institutions
law.
