Governor Appoints Orr to Corporate Law Commission
Lafayette, Indiana – January 26, 2004 – Karen Orr, partner in Lafayette’s Stuart & Branigin law firm, has been appointed by Governor Joseph Kernan to serve on the Indiana Corporate Law Survey Commission.
The 14-member commission considers recommendations to the Indiana General Assembly concerning amendments to Indiana corporation, limited liability company and partnership laws. It also considers new or additional legislation that could affect corporations, limited liability corporations, partnerships or other business entities authorized to do business in the state.
Members of the commission, all appointed by the governor, serve without compensation or expense reimbursement.

A 1989 graduate of the Indiana University School of Law, Orr specializes in business transactions, health care and education law. Her local volunteer activities include serving on the personnel committee of the Tippecanoe Community Health Clinic. She also serves as a board member for the Indiana Bar Foundation and the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum.
