Anthony S. Benton - Elected Fellow of the American Bar
Foundation
Chicago, April 1, 2004, Anthony S. Benton of the law firm
of Stuart & Branigin, Lafayette, Indiana was named a Fellow of the
American Bar Foundation.
The American Bar Foundation is the preeminent research center for the
empirical study of law, legal institutions, and legal processes in
society. The Fellows is an honorary organization of practicing attorneys,
judges, and law teachers whose professional, public, and private careers
have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their
communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession.
Established in 1955, the organization of The Fellows encourages and
supports the research program of the American Bar Foundation.
Mr. Benton received his B.A. from the University of Illinois in 1971 and
his Juris Doctor in 1976 from the Indiana University School of Law –
Indianapolis, and currently serves as legal counsel for The Trustees of
Purdue University. He has served as a Director of the Indiana Bar
Foundation (1998-2002), and as a Past Chair, Board of Directors for the
Lafayette-West Lafayette Chamber of Commerce (2000-2001). He is currently
serving as Treasurer of the Lafayette-West Lafayette Economic Development
Corporation and is on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of
the Greater Lafayette Community Development Corporation.
